A Stolen Moment: 46/366

Ugh, I'm super sick with the flu. Ugh.

I caught this from my perch on the sofa. As you see the iPhone 4S camera still has some limitations. Wish this was clearer.

This is a sweet moment, so I used it anyway. Zira loves to perch on Y's leg since she was a kitten. At this moment, she kept refusing to get off as she was enjoying her daddy time. :)

Be Mine: 45/366

Zira's sexy Valentine.

Hope your day was filled with love.

We spent the whole day together on the sofa. Sneezing, coughing, knocking out movie after movie in our Netflix queue. We had fun sending each other electronic valentine's since any other typical gesture was out due to us both being so ooky.  The following were especially appropriate due to our circumstances:

Cat Attack: 36/366

Found the perfect bath rug for our guest bathroom. Score! Of course there was only one left when I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's the perfect style, size, shape and color. We've had it for over a year.

Suddenly, a couple of months ago, Zira decided she really loves to attack it. She rolls around on it, hugs it and attacks the crap out of it. Big fun for kitty. The rug however, now has loops sticking straight out all over the surface and stray loops can be found all over the house thanks to our Roomba and Zira's love to play soccer with them.

I've looked everywhere and I found almost the exact rug except it's smaller in diameter. No perfect blue color either but the gray or white will work. Each time I see her go at it I want to save the rug but look at her, she goes nuts and seems to be having such a great time. Her eyes even match the rug color. I can't deny this kitty much, if anything. She does leave our custom sofa and nice chairs alone, thankfully. I guess the perfect rug will just have to fall prey to our sweet little beast.

Kitty Krack: 35/366

I'm sure we are not the only ones who spoil our kitty, even with things she doesn't care about. Our kitty only cares about what comes out of this ceramic canister not the actual canister. Yet, we had to get it for her. Yep, that's exactly right, her.

Honey Bear Don't Care: 24/366

Love these Honey Bear jars we get from local Moon Valley Organics located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range. The honey that comes inside is the best, yum! They don't come with the cute bonnet, those I get from Zira's Grandma Lucy's freeze-dried treats. The combo makes me swoon and I am starting to accumulate a wee stash since I discovered the pairing. Not sure what I will end up doing with them besides ogling in delight. The Honey Bears don't seem to mind the extra frills or attention.

Love Me: 22/366

Zira again. She was just too cute asking me to love her. I gave her loads of love and managed to snap a few photos in the process. She really is the sweetest kitty I have ever known. Raised by Y from a kitten, weened too early from her mother, all she knows is love. Before I met her, Y had warned me that she had never taken to anyone besides himself. She took to me immediately and by day three, she was snuggling up between my legs for safety and warmth, she had only done this with Y in the past. Y was amazed but also knew that Zira had basically confirmed what he already knew, that I was The One.

Zira: 2/366

Our Sweet Baby

Zira was a bit perplexed as we tried to get her to look in certain directions. She's looking at Y in this photo who is distracting her from the fact that I'm snapping images to rival paparazzi standards. She's so sweet that most of the time I try to take closeup photos of her, she just sniffs and rubs on my phone or my head while purring.

Both my loves have the most beautiful blue eyes.

Pop, Locks and Socks

The following questions were posed by the wonderful TERI REES WANG via a comment left on a previous post:

Who and what is your version of a ...Dyslexical-Madwoman?

(see above)

Does she run with the wolves?
She runs tarries with kitties.
This one in particular:

Zira, Queen of Kitties

Does she pop her bubble gum?
She pops and snaps her gum loudly,
however,
purely in secret.

She likes to blow bubbles
inside of bubbles
but
chewing gum makes her ears itch.

More than once,
gum has been cut from her locks.

Does she skip, or does she run?
She skips and hippity-hops,
then pulls up her socks.

Any questions?
Leave a comment or email them to me and I'll do my best to answer.

xo,

Project 365: Days 052-058

I have been MIA for a week, first due to
being busy then due to injury.
Thanks to those who expressed concern :)
you make me feel warm and fuzzy.
Follow my week to see what happened:

Day 052:
I found my wedding shoes! All the rest went back for FREE!
The shoes I settled on are a tad higher than I really wanted but for now they are the best choice. Since Zappos gives you 365 days to return, if I do find a better pair over the next few months I can still return them, YAYs!!

Day 053:
I love avocados and lately Amazon Fresh has been delivering the best avocados I can find. I order non-ripe ones and they are perfect each and every time. Yum!!

Day 054:
Lemons and limes are a staple in my kitchen. I love the smell and the flavor. I am addicted to S.Pellegrino mineral water with a squeeze of fresh lime. Totally refreshing and waaaaaaaaaaaaay better for me than regular soda.

Day 055:
I had to do a ton of research on Tuesday and Wednesday. I opted to do it in front of the TV with my laptop. Very bad move. I usually do my work on my iMac with a normal mouse. The laptop has a built in scrolly area that you need to use two fingers to scroll. I took this photo as I realized what had caused my pain. As you can see, I have very bad form and combined with too many hours of continuous scrolling, I gave myself a repetitive stress injury afftecting my right pinky and ring finger. Such a dork! It hurt all the time from Thursday through Saturday and I could not hold a mouse or type and even petting Zira hurt. Hence my MIA status last week. Please do not try this at home.

Day 056:
Here I am in what I call my Black Spidey glove. I have one for each hand. When I first started creating jewelry pieces, I was a bit of a mad woman going on for hours on end with the excitement. Well that's not such a great thing for your hands when you are not used to these new positions and holding pliers. I started to get carpal tunnel and had to get these gloves to help keep my hands warm and train them to be in a good position (there is a stiff metal brace inside of these from the palm to the wrist). Between the gloves, training myself to only do so much at a time and making sure I take breaks, I haven't had to use the gloves in ages. Until now. My right hand hurt so much after my scrolly injury, even when not doing anything, I figured I would try the magic glove.

Day 057:
Rocky Road ice cream makes me happy.
I had this bowl and I seriously think it cured my hand :P
At least to the point where I could mouse and type a wee bit
and that is the only time it feels sore now.

Day 058:
I can only work on the computer in short stints, so it has taken me all day to get this post up. Luckily it no longer hurts to pet Zira. But at this point, I do feel the soreness coming back so I will be laying off blogging for awhile again until I am fully recovered. I'll be back eventually and I wish you all a wonderful week!

Project 365: Day 042

I have been working on a business card design job for a client and was finishing up the design work today before our D&D group came over. Zira, not being too happy about the slow invasion of guests, she is a shy one, decided to hang at my feet under my computer desk. This is not her usual spot. Normally she prowls about up here in my studio and likes to hang on either her cushion by the window or atop the spiral staircase, aka her giant cat tree, where she can monitor all the goings on up here and the floor below. I had to take this photo because she just had this annoyed look to her sweet face. She is not used to us being so social. I am proud of her though. Normally, she would just be under our bed or comforter the entire time but she has actually come out to visit us even when we are playing. She is dealing but she is definitly not amused.
