A Stolen Moment: 46/366

Ugh, I'm super sick with the flu. Ugh.

I caught this from my perch on the sofa. As you see the iPhone 4S camera still has some limitations. Wish this was clearer.

This is a sweet moment, so I used it anyway. Zira loves to perch on Y's leg since she was a kitten. At this moment, she kept refusing to get off as she was enjoying her daddy time. :)

Be Mine: 45/366

Zira's sexy Valentine.

Hope your day was filled with love.

We spent the whole day together on the sofa. Sneezing, coughing, knocking out movie after movie in our Netflix queue. We had fun sending each other electronic valentine's since any other typical gesture was out due to us both being so ooky.  The following were especially appropriate due to our circumstances:

NyQuil Haze: 44/366

We've both been sick the last few days. Y more than myself but as he is getting better, I am getting worse. I've been too sick to edit and post much. Will update these posts in a few days with more/better info.

*It's now Thursday the 16th and I am full on flu girl. Y went back to work today as he is better. He caught it first at work. He had been working from home for the last 6 months, so awesome, but last week he had to be at the client site. Turns out someone was sick and had gone to work all week sick. Why, people? Why??? They had been cooped up in a tiny office until this person went home super sick on Thursday. Of course that was after they had infected 3 other people at work who then had to call in sick this week. STAY HOME WHEN YOU ARE SICK! Bad enough you are sick but don't take out the whole company and their loved ones, grrrrrrr.

I fought it off for awhile, or so I thought. Turns out I was doomed. No wonder I felt soooooooo tired when I went for my C25K run in the rain last Friday. I was thinking, wtf? I could barely do as well as my first run. No running for me this week, especially in all this rain. I figure I'll just start from the beginning again, hopefully next week.

ugh

Black Tie Cupcake: 43/366

These Just Dessert cupcakes came frozen in our Amazon Fresh delivery. Defrosted overnight in the fridge and then pulled them out about 30 mins before eating. They were decent. Not the most unreal cupcakes I've ever had but for delivery while you're sick, they did taste good.

Honey: 42/366

We received two of these yummy honey pots at our friends' wedding. The honey was really tasty, especially on the toasted raisin brioche loaf we were trying out this weekend. So good! Easy breakfast.

Lunch: 40/366

One of my favorite quick and easy lunches, shrimp and avocado salad. I usually add lemon, sea salt, fresh ground pepper, Tabasco sauce and cilantro. I was out of cilantro today. It was still yummers.

Rainy Run: 39/366

Week 1 Run 2 of C25K and I went even though it was raining. It's sort of like I'm the pod person version of myself, LOL.

I'm soooooooo glad when I got my new gear I was smart to give in to the fact that in this part of the world, running in the rain was inevitable. When I replaced my 8 year old Nike Air Pegasus, I went for the Nike Air Pegasus 27 GTX. GTX as in Gortex. Puddles be damned! Luckily, they come in a cool charcoal color with hot pink accents, awesome!

I already owned a really nice compression zip-up from Old Navy but wanted a hoodie to cover my head in the rain. I looked all around but a good running hoodie costs some moola. In the end I opted for the above Asics running hat for a mere $20. I really don't like how I look in hats. Plus it's hard for them to stay on my head. I have a big noggin and loads of thick hair. Even this hat, with its adjustable Velcro at the back, tends to ride up a bit as I move. Also, hats make my big cheeks stand out even more making me look all pointy headed.  [le sigh] This hat is totally worth enduring any hangups lurking inside my great big noggin. It kept my head dry and that brim keeps the sun and rain off my face and eyes. I could see the rain rolling off the sides of the brim as I ran. Not once did any get on my face. I do feel like a horse with blinders on but I think that's why it works so well.

Now, I just need to figure out my pants situation, cause it's a situation [insert Jersey Shore accent]. I'm currently wearing my compression, slightly bootleg, workout pants from Old Navy that were a steal. But the regular is too long even in my runners. The back drags on the ground and today they soaked up all the rain on the ground working their way up so that the entire bottom 1/4 was soaked. I do have a pair of running legging type pants with the zips at the ankle and they fit great, I was able to buy them in short sizing, but I feel too exposed. It's like running in footless tights. I feel naked.
