I am also keeping a food journal...not really counting calories yet - just taking note of how much and what I consume. The cutting back is next. There have been several nights that I have not wanted to ride the bike but I MAKE myself do it!! Even after Aubrey and I went out on Friday night- I rode the bike (a little drunk) at 3 am for 20 minutes!! Good luck to you - the key is to MAKE yourself do it and don't let yourself use any excuses at all.
